One thing you will quickly about me - I love music. Whether it's playing on the guitar or bashing the Cajon at home, listening to my fave playlist or being involved in concerts, music's always close to my heart. I'll go through my history in another post, but some of my first jobs were in the music industry, working for a record company, concert promotions (my own and working for someone else), and getting involved with my own program on community radio for a number of years. Long time ago now, but still have the love!
So, I'm going to indulge myself and occasionally bring you some youtube stuff for some of my favourite music clips from friends and artists I have been involved with, as well as some stuff that just really hits the spot for me. Part of my own group therapy 🙂
Love One Another - Newsboys United
First cab off the rank is this one from Newsboys United. Newsboys are a band that have been around in various forms since the mid 1980's.
Originally a bunch of Aussies formed together out of the Australian Pub band scene, I first saw them in Brisbane in 1987 when I was transitioning from the music industry to the travel industry (those freebie flights from my first job at EastWest airlines helped!!), and got to see them and spend some time with them when they supported "Whiteheart" in the city.
Not long after that, they were invited to the US and over the years became one of Christian Music's top selling artists, as well as some of Australia's highest grossing export bands (although most haven't heard of them because they are in the "Christian" genre rather than mainstream), receiving Grammy Awards in 1992, 1994, 1996 and 2003. And as you can see, they are still rocking!
