64mph - Living Fast In The Life Lane
Living Fast In The Life Lane

Welcome to 64MPH.com! I have designed this site to primarily be a kind of therapeutic outlet for me - a place where I can express my  thoughts, images, opinions and personal insights on life and all it dishes out.

Sometimes serious, sometimes sarcastic, and often very tongue in cheek. It's simply my personal space to put my thoughts on (virtual) paper. If you like it, great - if not, there's heaps of other blogs and sites to go and explore. The beauty of diversity!

Why 64MPH?

MPH
Meet Matt. He's starting to go a bit bald, so we can't show you his real hair.

64MPH is simply a combination of my initials and my birth year. I thought it had a nice ring to it. And of course the tag line "living fast in the life lane" is simply a play on words. MPH? Get it? Clever, hey...

About Me

My name is Matt, and as mentioned above, was born in '64. My working back ground started in the music industry, working for a record company, promoting a few gigs here and there, and having a bit of a stint on local radio.

More recently (well for the last few decades), I have worked in the travel industry, particularly in the cruise industry over the last few years, owning my own business for some of that time. Some great working experiences, but neither industry pays much. So I will probably never retire, as I am yet to see my superannuation even reach triple figures. Now even more of a stretch with Covid-19. Maybe I'll post an update once I get there. But don't hang around for it, because I can't guarantee it will be before 2030..

My other loves? Play a bit of guitar, write a few song lyrics, have the occasional hit out on the "box" (a Cajon - if you don't know what that is, look it up), take a few photos, am married to an amazing woman and have 2 gorgeous girls. Totally surrounded by women on all sides. Oh, and I am a fidgeter. I'm always fidgeting. Maybe it's the women. But sit me at a table, and I'm always playing finger drums to some imaginary tune in my head. And I don't know if therapy can help. With the women or the fidgeting..

Anyhow, that's it. Me in a nutshell. And a pretty bad mullet wig judging by the bogan photo.
